Issa Hayatou’s 29-year-rule Ends As Ahmad Ahmad Of Madagascar Emerges Victorious At CAF Elections

29 years after reigning supreme as the President of the Confederation of African Football, 70-year-old Issa Hayatou has been booted out of office following a just concluded election at the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa.

Hayaou, who also contested in the election exercise was defeated by the Madagascar FA President Ahmad Ahmad who got 34 votes to the incumbent’s 20.

Hayatou has been in office since 1988 and was seeking for an 8th term in office which has now been shattered by the younger Ahmad.
