Isese Day Celebration: Sanwo Olu Declares Monday Work-Free Day for Lagos Public Servants

Lagos State Governor, Babajide  Sanwo-Olu has declared Monday, August 21st, 2023, a work-free day for all public servants in the State. 

This move aims to provide an opportunity for individuals to partake in the annual Isese Day celebration, a prominent event on the cultural calendar, which is scheduled to take place this year on Sunday, August 20th

This announcement was made through an official notification released by the Lagos State government.

In a bid to underscore its commitment to supporting traditional institutions and preserving indigenous culture, Regular work activities are expected to resume on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023, at the customary time of 8 a.m.

The head of service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, emphasized the importance of disseminating this information to all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) within the State. 

It is imperative that all Accounting Officers ensure the wide distribution of this circular to ensure its proper implementation.

The Isese Day celebration holds great cultural significance in Lagos, serving as a platform for the community to connect with their roots and honor their traditional practices. 

The Governor’s decision to designate a work-free day demonstrates the administration’s dedication to fostering cultural pride and heritage preservation.
