President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday declared that access to the internet is a right, not a privilege, for all Nigerians.
He made the statement while addressing over 2,000 young digital creators, influencers, and communication professionals at the inaugural Progressive Digital Media Summit held at the State House Banquet Hall, Aso Villa.
The President emphasized that affordable and inclusive internet access is central to his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing its importance in driving innovation, education, economic growth, and civic engagement across the country.
“In today’s world, internet access is not a privilege. It is a right that every Nigerian must enjoy,” Tinubu stated.
“Our goal is to ensure that no citizen is left behind in the digital economy.”
The summit also featured panel discussions on digital policy, content creation, monetization, and youth inclusion in governance.
The event also feature the official unveiling of PBATVersary 2.0, a compendium documenting the milestones of President Tinubu’s administration over the past two years.
The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding digital infrastructure nationwide and supporting Nigerian youths in leveraging technology for national development.
