#INEC: See the new dates for Presidential and Gubernatorial elections
After keeping vigil all night, the Independent National Electoral Commission has finally announced a postponement of the 2019 general elections. The commission through its chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu cited logistics as the main reason for the postponement.

Recall that BlackBox Nigeria has earlier independently disclosed that the elections might not hold following a huge lack of preparedness on the part of the commission.
Prof. Yakubu at an international press briefing in Abuja moments ago, stated that the decision to reschedule the elections was a difficult one for the commission. He said it was however necessary following “a review of the implementation of its logistics and operational plan and the determination to conduct a free, fair and credible election.”
The elections will now hold as follows:
Presidential and National Assembly: February 23.
Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly: March 9.
