It’s official! INEC announces postponement of Presidential and National Assembly polls

Recall that BlackBox Nigeria has earlier independently disclosed that the elections might not hold following a huge lack of preparedness on the part of the commission.

Prof. Yakubu at an international press briefing in Abuja moments ago, stated that the decision to reschedule the elections was a difficult one for the commission. He said it was however necessary following “a review of the implementation of its logistics and operational plan and the determination to conduct a free, fair and credible election.”

The elections will now hold as follows:

Presidential and National Assembly: February 23.

Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly: March 9.

“Breaking News: Breaking News: The Elections now to hold on; 23rd February, 2019 for Presidential and National Assembly while the Governorship, State House of Assembly and the FCT Area Council Elections is to hold on 9th March, 2019,” INEC also tweeted on its official Twitter handle.
