The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced the postponement of the governorship election and state assembly elections till March 18.
This decision was reached at a meeting held by the electoral body’s national commissioner on Wednesday night.
Blackbox Nigeria had gathered from an inside source that the postponement is as a result of problems with logistics due to the BVAS configuration.
As a result of this, the elections had to be postponed by a week to make room for adequate preparations.
The electoral body had initially stipulated March 11 to hold the governorship and state assembly elections.
