The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed reports that it will resume Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and replacement of lost Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) on May 27, 2025.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, INEC’s Chief Press Secretary, Rotimi Oyekanmi, described the report as “untrue” and urged the public to disregard the false narrative.
The commission has not announced any resumption date for the CVR, Oyekanmi emphasized, advising the public to rely only on official information from INEC.
The clarification comes as Nigerians await the resumption of voter registration ahead of future elections.
