The Returning Officer of the Osun State INEC, Professor Awupe has declared the governorship election in the State inconclusive.

In his final remarks, the Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Akure disclosed that the All Progressives Congress candidate scored a total of 254,345 votes while candidate of the People’s Democratic Party scored 254,698 votes declaring the margin as 353 votes.

Professor Awupe noted that elections were not held in several Polling Units due to different activities. He gave the total number of registered voters in the mentioned units as 3,498.

By citing the guidelines of INEC in declaring winners of governorship election, he noted that the numbers of disenfranchised voters was more than the difference between the two leading candidates, he then declared the election inconclusive.
