The Executive Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. (Prince) Wasiu Kunle Agoro, has officially inaugurated the Media and Publicity Committees of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2025 Campaign Council.
The event, held on June 13, 2025, in Imota, Ikorodu, marks a major step in the party’s preparation for the upcoming local government elections.
The inauguration brought together community stakeholders, party loyalists, and political leaders, all united in their support for the APC’s continued leadership in Imota LCDA.
In his opening address, Hon. Agoro emphasized the importance of strategic communication in modern politics, noting that the newly formed committees will serve as a vital link between the candidates and the electorate.
“Our administration seeks not only to lead but also to engage, inform, and empower our incoming administration to start strong,” Agoro stated.
“Through these committees, we aim to energize our campaign, deepen our connection with voters, and deliver unprecedented results at the polls.”
The campaign committee will support the Chairmanship Candidate, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, and Vice-Chairmanship Candidate, Hon. (Princess) Bisoye Jimoh, alongside councillorship candidates from the four wards in Imota LCDA.
Discussions at the meeting centered around implementing comprehensive media strategies, including the use of social media, radio, print, and grassroots outreach.
Key members of the Media Committee include Comrade Onanuga Ismail Adewale, Hon. Shofowora Olumide Adeleke, Comrade Folarin Adegboyega Awal, Mr. Olalekan Soipe, Mr. Saka Oriyomi, Hon. Onafuye Micheal, Mr. Wemimo Shina, and others.
The committee is chaired by Hon. Sule Okedeyi, a seasoned media strategist and respected APC stalwart in the community.
The Publicity Committee is led by Hon. Olatayo Hammed and includes Hon. Olayinka Babatunde Adewale, Mr. Rotimi Azeez, Mr. Sanni Mustapha, Mr. Saka Malik, Mrs. Temitayo Adelana, Alhaji Wasiu Showemimo, and others.
Their mandate is to ensure consistent, accurate, and engaging communication with the grassroots.
In total, over 30 individuals with backgrounds in journalism, public relations, social media, and community activism were selected.
Hon. Ayodele and Hon. Jimoh lauded the initiative and expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to drive the campaign’s message to every household in Imota.
