Veteran Nigerian musician, Salawa Abeni, has debunked viral rumours claiming she had passed away.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, the 64-year-old Waka Queen described the reports as “shameful” and cautioned the public against spreading falsehoods.

Singing cheerfully in the clip, she declared that those wishing her dead “shall die before” her.

She also expressed gratitude to her fans and well-wishers for their concern, assuring them that she is alive, strong, and healthy.

Captioning the video, Abeni wrote:

“I’m alive, hale, and hearty. Please disregard the rumours. Some blogs will do the unthinkable just to trend. It is rather shameful. The Queen is fine and doing very well.”

Her clarification comes amid a recent wave of death hoaxes targeting Nigerian public figures, including music legend Ebenezer Obey and Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu, both of whom were also forced to publicly debunk similar rumours.
