By Ikorodu Residents Debunk Rumours About Fresh Badoo Attack, Demand Evidence
Contrary to reports shared on the social media alleging that the dreaded Badoo group had striked again brutally attacking a foreigner, residents of Ikorodu and environs who confided in BlackBox Nigeria said nothing of such never happened in the town as relative peace seems to have returned to the community after several raids of hide out by security personnel.
According to the rumours making rounds online, the suspected gang member was said to have been operating as a cab operator (taxi) and allegedly took his last passenger, an unnamed foreigner who just came into the country from the airport to his own apartment in a yet to be disclosed area attempting to kill him with a mortal and grinding stone.
In chats with BBN360, different residents who will not like their names to be mentioned stated clearly that no incident of such happened in any of the neighbouring communities. Some also pointed to the fact that no area of residence was mentioned in the said attack. The residents stated that the rumour was concocted to tarnish the image of the Division.
Another resident, who is the Founder of Ikorodu Ambassadors group, Rasheed Fatuga, in his reaction faulted all prominent Ikorodu citizens which includes all the traditional rulers and political office holders for not wading into the new rumours and reacting to same as he said such communication to their followers will affirm the situation of things and return calm to all concerned.
