The Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru Ramadan Lecture Series came to a close on Thursday with a grand finale at the Ikorodu Eid Prayer Ground, Ota-Ona, Ikorodu.
The event, attended by approximately 1,500 Muslims, featured prominent Islamic clerics, including Sheikh Olowooribi and Sheikh Oshoala (As-Samadaani), who emphasized the importance of unity among Muslims.
Sheikh Olowooribi praised Senator Abiru for organizing the lectures, stating that he has “done really well” in fostering unity and peaceful co-existence among the people.
Guest Lecturer Sheikh Murtador Amokomowo (Imam Oba) stressed that unity is essential for community development and that Muslims should work together to advance their interests.
Senator Abiru, represented by his Special Adviser, Dr. Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle, noted that the lecture series has promoted dialogue on Islamic values and reinforced principles of peace, love, and communal harmony.
He urged attendees to continue praying for the nation’s leaders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
The event also featured the distribution of Ramadan packages to attendees, courtesy of Senator Abiru.
Eminent personalities who attended the event included Hon. Mrs Adebimpe Akinsola, Hon. Olusegun Olulade, Alhaja Sherifat Abiodun Ogunniyi, and Alhaji Musiliu Sulaiman.
