A renewed era of optimism is sweeping through Ijede LCDA as ongoing rehabilitation and construction works across several public primary schools draw commendations from education authorities and stakeholders.
During an inspection tour on Monday, the Education Secretary of Ikorodu Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Alhaji Taiwo Abiodun Odumbo, alongside officials from the Basic Education Quality Assurance (BEQA), visited multiple school construction sites in the council area. What they found, he said, reflects a significant shift in the state of public education infrastructure.
Rather than focusing on political rhetoric or ceremonial announcements, the inspection placed the spotlight squarely on the concrete progress being recorded in classrooms, toilets, and school buildings, facilities long overdue for renewal.

The tour revealed major projects such as new classroom blocks, modern toilet facilities, and perimeter fencing at Methodist Primary School, Oke-Eletu; Community Primary School, Abule-Eko; Egbin Kingdom Primary School; Anglican Primary School, Ijede; and AUI Primary School, where a full reconstruction effort is underway.
One of the standout institutions was Igbe-Oguro Community Primary School, a newly adopted LASUBEB-supported school that observers say now ranks among the most visually impressive and structurally solid buildings in the state’s basic education system.
The inspection ended with a strategic meeting between Alhaji Odumbo and Ijede LCDA Chairman, Honourable Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba. Odumbo acknowledged the scale and impact of the projects, describing them as interventions that directly respond to community needs and set a new benchmark for grassroots educational development.
For many residents, the projects signal an era where public schools are no longer defined by dilapidation, but by facilities that encourage learning, dignity, and opportunity.
