Ikorodu Lawmaker, Jimi Benson Distributes Food Items To 500 Beneficiaries

In its usual tradition, the iCare Foodbank, an initiative of Hon. Babajimi Benson gave out food items to beneficiaries for the month of December.

In the spirit of the season, lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Hon Babajimi Adegoke Benson yesterday distributed packed food items to 500 beneficiaries in his constituency.

BlackBox Nigeria’s Sodiq Sanni gathered that the distribution of food items for the festive season was handled the iCare FoodBank, one of the social intervention body created by the lawmaker to distribute food items to vulnerable people in Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

Speaking briefly before the items were distributed to the beneficiaries, Hon. Benson assured residents that he will always be ready to associate himself with the people as he pacify affected victims of the demolition in Ishawo and Igbogbo axis of the Division.

He also thanked the people for their support as he said he will always stand for their benefits.

Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola also graced the occasion.

Amongst dignitaries present was the Lagos State Commissioner for Acting Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Adebimpe Akinsola who also gave kudos to Hon. Babajimi Benson. 

On his part, the Director General of iCare Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwoola said that the distribution of food items was designed under the believe that food is important in the hierarchy of human needs. He noted that the foodbank was designed to help relief the suffering of the vulnerable in the society.

He added that the iCare Foundation team hope the current beneficiaries will be buoyant before the next distribution so as not to be among next set of people to benefit from the iCare Food bank.
