The Ikorodu High School Old Students Association (IKHSOSA) has made history with the formal inauguration of its Pioneer National Executive Committee, marking a major step in strengthening alumni coordination and leadership.
The landmark ceremony, held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, was the first time the association constituted and inaugurated a national leadership structure since its establishment in 1971, uniting Ikorodu High School alumni across Nigeria and the diaspora under a single organised platform.
According to the press release signed by the PRO of the association, Omolola Adeyemi Ayodele, Alumni described the event as a defining moment in the association’s journey, ushering in a new era of unity, growth and structured engagement.
The gathering was filled with joy and pride as members reflected on the significance of the milestone and expressed gratitude to God for the success of the occasion.
Several distinguished personalities and stakeholders were acknowledged for their support, including Dr. Adesegun Kashimawo, diaspora members represented by Mr. Bayo Benson, Elder Oshin Adewale Isiaka, Prince Bisiriyu Adeniyi Surudeen, and members of the National Working Committee for their dedication to the IKHSOSA vision.
Traditional rulers also lent their blessings to the historic event. Special appreciation was extended to His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Olusegun Benson, the Olojodu of Ojodu Kingdom, and Baale Adeniyi Ajayi, the Eletu of Okeletu Kingdom, for their fatherly support and goodwill.
The association further commended the various graduating class sets for their solidarity and contributions, which added colour and strength to the inauguration. The spirit of unity was summed up in the Yoruba prayer, “Ajọṣe wa o ni bàjẹ́ o, àmín” (May our togetherness not be broken, amen).
Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated executives, IKHSOSA reaffirmed its commitment to responsible leadership, accountability and selfless service, assuring members that the trust placed in the new leadership would not be betrayed.
With the inauguration of its pioneer national executives, IKHSOSA says it is now well-positioned to pursue purposeful engagement, institutional development and positive impact on Ikorodu High School and the wider society.
