As the year 2020 comes to an end, Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative hosted its first ever Annual General Meeting on Sunday 20th December, 2020, in order to review its activities and plan ahead for the new year.
In attendance were the Chairman Board Of Trustees, Dr. Abiodun Fatai Abatan as well as Mr Oke Olaoluwa Godwin, a member of the Board.
In his remarks, the B.O.T chairman praised the executive team for the proficiency displayed in carrying out their activities, while commending them for the brilliant ideas and innovations created to impact the life of youths in Ikorodu Division.
To Mr Godwin Olaoluwa Oke, a member of the Board, the importance of cooperation and unity which helped the executive team in achieving the recorded success cannot be undermined. He implored the team to continue to work hand-in-hand to achieve more.
The year 2020 report of the organisation was presented by the Executive Director, Comrade Samson Bisiriyu alongside the Director of Administration, Comrade Olusola Sokoya.
The report’s major highlights include the facilitation of employment for 17 youths in Ikorodu Division, introduction of a public opinion poll to assess the performance of the LG/LCDAs Chairmen In Ikorodu Division, the distribution of COVID-19 palliatives to over 300 household during the lockdown, among others.
Also, the movement organised Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Development 2.0 and equally facilitated the procurement of 2 brand new sewing machines and a hair dryer to IDYI students undergoing training at the Rotary Vocational Training Center, Igbogbo. Both projects are courtesy of the Lagos State Commissioner of Agriculture, Ms Ruth Olusanya.
