It was all joy for Ikorodu City FC players and staff on Saturday after the club emerged as the champions of the Nigerian National League Pre-season Tournament tagged Eko Football.
Organized in order to prepare football clubs across Lagos for the new NNL season, Ikorodu City ran riot against their opponents before putting the icing on the cake by orchestrating a 2-1 win over Ottasolo Football Club to claim the trophy at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.
The trophy was presented to Ikorodu City’s captain by Barrister Seyi Akinkunmi, the Chairman of Lagos State Football Association, who was supported by his Vice Chairman, Otunba Tade Azeez.
The Lagos FA Chairman, who is also the 1st Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation, in his remarks, commended the organization of the tournament which was geared towards better preparation of Football Clubs from Lagos ahead of the NNL season.
