Ikorodu City FC drops head coach, Sadiq Dabiri

Ikorodu City FC has announced the departure of its head coach, Sadiq Dabiri, following a mutual agreement reached with the club’s board.
The information was confirmed in a post made on the club’s official Facebook page on Thursday.
Sodiq initially joined the club as the first assistant coach to Coach Abiodun Obafemi and assumed the position of head coach in 2023 when the latter was sacked at the end of 2022 season.
During his time as manager, he led the club to clinched the most coveted trophy in Lagos FC–’Lagos FA Cup’.
The club has been included in Nigeria National League.
The decision to part ways with Coach Dabiri was made after a meeting between the management of the club and the board, where a mutual agreement was reached.
“Sadiq Dabiri has been a significant figure in our club’s journey, and we appreciate his dedication and hard work over the years,” said in a statement released by Ikorodu City Football Club.
“We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
The departure of Coach Dabiri leaves a vacancy at the head coaching position, which the club plans to fill in the coming days.
BlackBox Nigeria further reached out to the Executive Director of the club, Kayode Badmus who declined commenting on the issue.
According to him, the statement on social media already stated the club’s position and a replacement will be announced in the coming days.
