Ikorodu-Born Mudasiru Becomes Professor In LASU

Dr. Surajudeen Mudasiru Oladosu of the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social Sciences, Lagos State University, on Thursday, was appointed by the institution as a Professor of Political Science.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that the Ikorodu-born Mudasiru, until his new appointment, was an Associate Professor and presently the Desk Officer of the LASU TETFund Office.

The new Professor is from Olisa Compound, Itun Domigaran at the back of Ikorodu Central Mosque in Obun Ale, Ikorodu.

He began his academic career in the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social Sciences of the Lagos State University – where he obtained his B.Sc degree in 1995 – as a Graduate Assistant. He later proceeded to the University of Lagos for his M.Sc and Ph.D.

As a lecturer, he grew within the rank and file to become an Associate Professor – and now a Professor in the same Department.

Dr. Mudasiru was a participant at the UNSC/MOST/UNDP organised summer school in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2002. He was a winner of the SSRC award for collaborative research in 2004. He was also a winner of the CDD award of a South-South Fellowship Programme sponsored by the Ford Foundation which took him to India between July and October 2004. He has participated in local and International conferences and published in refereed journals both locally and internationally.
