Abductors of the Clerk of Ikeja Local Government, Shamsideen Abiodun Omotayo have demanded a ransom of N20million BlackBox Nigeria can confirm.

BBN earlier reported that the kidnappers waylaid Omotayo in Ikorodu while being driven by his driver on his way to work. He was immediately taken to an unknown location while security operatives immediately launched a search campaign.

The abductors are now demanding a ransom without which they claim the abducted Clerk will not be released.

The kidnapper had yesterday contacted the Head of Administration at the Ikeja Local Government council disclosing that both the Clerk and his driver will only be freed when the sum has been paid.

A statement by the information unit of the council readn in part, “This is to inform the public of the abduction of the Ikeja Local Government Clerk, Mr. Omotayo Shamsideen, by some notorious kidnappers in the early hours of Tuesday, August 1, 2017, on his way to work.

“He has, however, been allowed to speak with his immediate boss. The kidnappers demanded N20m as ransom.”

Lagos Police command however says the issue is an abduction not a kidnap.
