By Ijede Vice Chairman, Motunrayo Gbadebo empowers women, gives out hairdryer, sewing machine, other items
The Executive Vice Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo has embarked upon an empowerment project in the LCDA to alleviate poverty among the women.
Hon. Gbadebo yesterday hosted several women from the LCDA where she gave out different items to aid them make a living of their own. Amongst items given out were a Sewing Machine, Hairdryer, Grinding Machine Cooling containers and cartoons of soft drinks for retain sales.
The young and amiable Vice Chairman in a chat with BlackBox Nigeria disclosed that the empowerment program was the first in her series of projects to ensure women begin to take charge of their own affairs while depending less financially on their husbands and relatives. She further said that the program was encouraged by the council chairman, Alhaji Fatiu Salisu who believes in poverty alleviation at all levels.
