Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA) recently welcomed a delegation from the Lagos State House Committee on Judiciary and Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) Ad-Hoc Committee on Thursday, 6th January, 2025.
The delegation, led by Hon. Ladi Ajomale, aimed to assess the council’s preparedness for the upcoming local government elections.
During the assessment, Hon. Ajomale expressed confidence in Ijede LCDA, citing its history of peaceful elections.
He emphasized the importance of ensuring necessary facilities, structures, and logistics are in place for a smooth and credible electoral process.
“We are here to ensure all necessary facilities, structures, and logistics are available to achieve a smooth and credible electoral process,” he said.
The council’s leadership, including Executive Chairman Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogaba, reassured the Committee of their preparedness.
They highlighted collaborative efforts between key stakeholders to guarantee a successful election.
This development comes as the Lagos State House of Assembly is set to amend the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) Law.
The amendment aims to ensure the neutrality of electoral officials and prevent malpractices during the elections.
