Ijede Local Council Development Area is setting its sights on a deeper wave of grassroots transformation as Executive Chairman, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, on Wednesday unveiled a ₦5.12 billion spending plan designed to accelerate both infrastructure upgrades and human development across the community.
Presenting the 2026 Appropriation Bill before the 6th Legislative Arm at the newly commissioned Yeye Fausat Gbadebo Legislative Building, the chairman described the budget as the outcome of “extensive, ward-to-ward consultations” and a deliberate shift toward inclusive governance.
She explained that the financial plan tagged “Budget of Infrastructure and Human Capital Development” was crafted to ensure residents feel measurable improvements in daily living through better roads, education, healthcare, and poverty-reduction initiatives.
A substantial ₦2.04 billion has been earmarked for capital projects, signalling the council’s intention to scale up tangible development in 2026.
Legislative Leader, Hon. Basirat Kehinde, commended the chairman for delivering the new legislative complex and assured that lawmakers would scrutinize the bill with diligence, pledging support only for projects that guarantee real value to Ijede residents.
The budget presentation drew key political figures, community development leaders, religious representatives, and the council’s management team signaling a unified front ahead of the fiscal year.
