Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA) gathered residents and stakeholders on Thursday, November 14, 2024, to help shape the 2025 budget.
The consultative forum, held across four venues in the council area—Egbin Town Hall (Ward A), Reading Room on Palace Road (Ward B), Ijede Town Hall (Ward C), and Oke-Eletu Town Hall (Ward D)—encouraged local participation and allowed community members to voice their priorities and concerns.
At the Ijede Town Hall (Ward C), Vice Chairman Hon. Femi Kabir represented Executive Chairman Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba.
He extended appreciation on behalf of the chairman for residents’ trust and emphasized the administration’s focus on key areas such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and security without incurring large debts.
Hon. Kabir also reviewed various projects completed in 2024, ranging from road repairs, installation of borehole water systems, and streetlight installations to upgrades in healthcare facilities and the construction of classrooms.
Participants voiced requests and suggestions, contributing valuable input on community needs, and the Vice Chairman responded openly to their inquiries. He stressed the importance of residents supporting development by fulfilling their civic responsibilities, such as timely payment of taxes and rates, to improve internally generated revenue (IGR).
Gbolahan Rafiu Omotosho, Chief Press Secretary of Ijede LCDA, said the forum reflected the administration’s commitment to transparent and responsive governance that addresses the community’s direct needs and priorities.
