The Executive Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, has unveiled the council’s 2025 Appropriation Bill, tagged the “Budget of Economic Planning and Community Development.”
The proposed budget, amounting to N3.76 billion, reflects a 30% increase from the 2024 fiscal plan and aims to drive poverty alleviation, infrastructure improvement, and social services.
Presenting the budget to the council’s legislative arm earlier today, Gbadebo-Alogba emphasized her administration’s commitment to economic development and the welfare of residents.
“Our administration is built on the principles of fiscal responsibility, transparency, and accountability. We ensure every naira is allocated effectively and efficiently to meet the needs of our people,” she stated.
The 2025 budget allocates 36% to capital expenditure, 30% to personnel costs, and 34% to overhead costs. Projected revenues include VAT (82%), statutory allocation (5%), Federal Allocation (FAAC) (9%), internally generated revenue (4%), and state grants (0.27%).
Gbadebo-Alogba highlighted the achievements of the outgoing fiscal year, noting that capital expenditure performance surpassed 90% across various sectors.
The 2025 plan builds on this progress with proposed initiatives such as cash transfers for vulnerable residents, enhanced healthcare and education facilities, and infrastructural development.
Legislative leader Hon. Fadeyi Kehinde Abiodun commended the chairman’s people-focused governance and pledged the legislature’s commitment to a thorough review and timely passage of the budget. “We will carry out our oversight duty diligently to ensure the budget meets the needs of our communities,” he assured.
The budget presentation was attended by notable stakeholders, including Vice Chairman Hon. Femi Kabir, party leaders, religious leaders, traditional rulers, community leaders, council executives, and management staff.
