The Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to education by distributing exercise books and school uniforms to pupils in government-owned primary schools across the council.
The initiative, tagged “Back to School Intervention”, is part of the council’s annual programme to ease the financial burden on parents and ensure access to quality education for all children.
Benefiting schools this year include Anglican Nursery and Primary School, Anwar-Ul-Islam Primary School, Egbin Kingdom Primary School, Methodist Nursery and Primary School, Community Nursery and Primary School, and Igbe-Ogunro Nursery and Primary School.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba urged pupils to remain dedicated to their studies, describing primary education as the bedrock of a child’s development.
“My administration has a soft spot for education, which is why I ensured this intervention is an annual exercise to ease the burden on parents and give our children access to education,” she said.
“Beyond this, more classrooms are on the way, alongside cash support and empowerment programmes for our people.”
The council noted that the gesture reflects its broader commitment to improving infrastructure, empowering residents, and expanding opportunities for young learners within the community.
