Ijede LCDA Chairman Commissions New, Renovated Classroom Blocks Across Five Primary Schools

Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on Wednesday, December 16, 2025, took a significant step in strengthening its public education infrastructure as the Executive Chairman, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, commissioned four newly constructed and one renovated blocks of classrooms, all fully furnished and equipped with modern toilet facilities.

The education intervention, which began on September 23, 2025, was designed to address the growing need for improved learning spaces in government-owned primary schools across the council area, amid rising enrolment and demand for quality education.

At the commissioning exercise, newly constructed blocks of six classrooms, each complemented by six modern toilet facilities, were unveiled at Methodist Primary School, Oke Eletu; Anglican Primary School; and Abule Eko Community Primary School, Ijede. A block of four classrooms with four toilet facilities was also constructed and commissioned at Egbin Kingdom Primary School.

In addition, Anwar-Ul-Islam Primary School, Ijede, benefitted from the renovation and full furnishing of a six-classroom block, alongside the provision of six modern toilet facilities. Perimeter fencing was also provided at Methodist Primary School, Oke Eletu, to enhance safety and security within the school environment.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to education, describing the projects as a strategic investment in the future of Ijede. She said education remains a central pillar of her policy agenda, noting that her government will continue to prioritize people-oriented initiatives that deliver tangible benefits to residents.

“This intervention is about creating a conducive and inclusive learning environment that will support both pupils and teachers, while laying a solid foundation for long-term development in our communities,” the chairman said.

Also speaking, the Education Secretary of the Ikorodu Local Government Education Authority, Mr. Taiwo Abiodun Odumbo, commended the initiative, describing it as evidence of purposeful and visionary leadership. He noted that the improved facilities would significantly enhance teaching and learning outcomes in the benefiting schools.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including Hon. Hassan Adefarasin, APC Apex Leader; members of the Alajede-in-Council; party executives; community leaders; headteachers; and residents, who welcomed the projects as a boost to public education in Ijede LCDA.
