The Chairperson of Ijede LCDA, Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, on Thursday, visited Herbert Macaulay Library, Yaba, Lagos, where five Nigerians are currently on an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for Longest Marathon Read Aloud by a Team.
The council boss, who happened to be the first elected official to visit the venue, was particularly impressed by the group’s intention to spur the reading culture in the country.
She seized the opportunity to interact with some of the participants and commended their efforts as the quest reaches its seventh day.

Meanwhile, the team drawn from different geo-political regions in the country will read for 480 hours ending on December 21, in an attempt to beat the current record of 365 hours and 39 seconds set in the Dominican Republic in July 2001.
The five Nigerians on this audacious attempt include Maryam Abba Sadu and
Zainab Wakil Mohammed from Bornu State, Doubra Yeri from Bayelsa, Preciouslight Ukachi from Imo State, and Treasures-Olawunmi Bayode from Ogun State.
