The Executive Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Honourable Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, has been commended for her swift action in constructing a perimeter fence at Methodist Primary School, Oke-Eletu, Ikorodu.

This move has cleared the way for the establishment of a new computer centre at the school.

The initiative follows a meeting held on August 7, 2025, between Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba and the Education Secretary of the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Ikorodu, Alhaji Taiwo Abiodun Odumbo.

During the discussion, Odumbo shared plans to set up a computer centre to improve digital literacy among pupils but expressed concern over the lack of a perimeter fence, citing it as a major security risk to the proposed facility.

In response, Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba pledged to have the fence completed before the September 15 school resumption date.

True to her word, an inspection on September 10, 2025, revealed that the fence was nearly completed, marking a significant step toward enhancing the school’s safety and creating an enabling environment for the computer education project.

Odumbo, speaking on behalf of the management and staff of the LGEA, praised the council boss for her “proactive leadership that turns plans into progress” and her “dedication to the safety and advancement of our children.”

“This timely intervention has removed the last barrier to bringing computer education to Methodist Primary School, Oke-Eletu, and all primary schools in the Ijede axis,” Odumbo said.

“We celebrate her promise made and promise kept, and look forward to further fruitful engagements and collaborations.”

The computer centre, once completed, is expected to provide pupils in the area with vital computer literacy skills, bridging the digital gap and preparing them for future opportunities.
