The Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, has launched the construction of new classroom blocks and toilets across four government primary schools in the council area.
The groundbreaking ceremony, held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, marks another step in the council’s commitment to improving access to quality education and addressing infrastructure deficits in public schools.
The beneficiary schools include Anglican Nursery and Primary School, Egbin Kingdom Primary School, Methodist Nursery and Primary School, and Community Nursery and Primary School.
Speaking at the event, Gbadebo-Alogba said the intervention was designed to meet the rising demand for learning spaces and provide a conducive environment for pupils.
“Education remains a cornerstone of my administration. In fulfilment of my promise, additional classrooms are being constructed. I urge the contractors on site to expedite the work for timely completion,” she stated.
The Council Chairman described the project as a long-term investment in the future of Ijede’s children, stressing that primary education is the foundation for lifelong learning and community development.
Party leaders, community stakeholders, headteachers, and residents who attended the ceremony applauded the initiative, commending Gbadebo-Alogba for prioritising education and providing much-needed infrastructure to support pupils and teachers.
