The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially unveiled the 28-man squad that will represent the Super Eagles at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, with top striker Victor Osimhen and in-form winger Ademola Lookman leading the charge.

The squad, announced on Thursday, reflects a strong mix of experience and youthful talent as Nigeria aims for a fourth continental title.

Notably, the list includes several players making their AFCON debut, such as Tochukwu Nnadi, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, and Ryan Alebiosu.

Stanley Nwabali, Francis Uzoho, and Amas Obasogie will battle for the number one shirt, with Nwabali expected to retain his starting spot after solid recent performances.

The backline features Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, and Chidozie Awaziem, while new names like Alebiosu and Igoh Ogbu offer depth and energy.

Coach Eric Chelle has selected a balanced midfield led by Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, and Raphael Onyedika. Rising stars Akinsanmiro, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and Nnadi provide creativity and youthful drive.

Nigeria’s forward line is stacked with firepower Osimhen, Lookman, Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Paul Onuachu, and Chidera Ejuke are all in, joined by Akor Adams, Cyriel Dessers, and promising youngster Salim Fago.

The Super Eagles are in Group C alongside Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania. Their opening match is scheduled for December 23 in Casablanca.

Nigeria last won the AFCON in 2013 and will be hoping to end the 12-year drought in Morocco.
