Fans of Patrick Obahiagbon and those who were looking forward to an exciting time with the grammatical elocutionist in the red chambers will be disappointed with this new development. This is because his quest of entering into the Senate has been dashed following a painful defeat at the polls.

Patrick Obahiagbon who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Edo South Senatorial district has lost to PDP’s Mathew Uroghide.
The former Chief of Staff to ex-Edo Governor, Adams Oshiomhole who was also a former member of the Federal House of Representatives polled 121,957 to be defeated by Uroghide who got 135,588 votes.

The Peoples Democratic Party won two of the three senatorial seats in Edo state.
Clifford Ordia won in Edo Central while Senate Deputy Chief Whip, Francis Alimikhena won in Edo North.
