The Executive Chairman, Igbogbo Bayeku Local Council Development Area, Olusesan Daini, on Tuesday, visited Oriwu College in Ikorodu, where the second stream of the Lagos Sports Summer Camp is being held.
Recall Blackbox Nigeria reported that no fewer than 120 pupils have been camped at the college, as the Lagos East edition officially commenced last Sunday.
The Summer Camp, an initiative of the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), was designed for pre-teens between ages 9-14 in a secured and conducive environment with caring and experienced camp counselors to guide them throughout.
In his remarks, Daini commended the Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu as well as the Director General of the LSSC, Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan, for the initiative, saying they’re raising the next set of transformational leaders.
He noted that the Camp will enable the campers to have a better relationship with one another, but also promote teamwork and team spirit.
The council boss urged the campers to transform what they are learning at the Lagos Sports Summer Camp to a life changing activities for a better tomorrow.
“You can be a producer of large Power Bank in your locality, if you concentrate on what you are being taught on how to produce Power Banks which is part of what you are going to learn at the camp,” he said.
Daini promised to reward campers during the closing ceremony to round off the seven-day camping on Saturday.
