The Executive Chairman, Igbogbo Baiyeku Local Council Development Area. Hon. Sesan Daini has initiated plans to improve the internally generated revenue of the council as part of efforts to improve infrastructure provision in the LCDA while seeking the support of residents.

Speaking at the Year 2022 Budget Stakeholders meeting and 1,584 Days in Office, Hon. Daini said his administration has constituted the Igbogbo/Baiyeku Internal Revenue Committee to increase the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the LCDA in line with the THEMES agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

“We have decided to rebrand Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA’s revenue committee. The legislature has approved the new operational arm and logo, which will take effect from today.

“The new revenue operational arm will be provided with a unique uniform and a single treasury account will be introduced to avoid cash payment to any individual. This will strengthen our revenue generation base, increase our resources, capacity, accountability and service delivery.

“All we have done and all we plan to do are largely dependent on your uncompromising support and we do not take it for granted. We will appreciate input and advice to make the 2022 Budget inclusive,” the Chairman stated during his address.

As part of the events of the day, the Chairman also disbursed N20,000 as financial support to hundred old people, widows and physically challenged persons captured under the Lagos State Operational Coordinating Unit scheme, commissioned a new block of classrooms, provided free medical program/health insurance to some indigents and disbursed Bursary award to 100 indigent tertiary institution students to mark his achievements within the last 1, 584 days.

Hon. Daini in the cause of his address urged residents of Igbogbo/ Baiyeku LCDA to continue to support his administration with prayers while assuring that he would not rest on his oars to take the LCDA to an enviable height as he would be making road infrastructure his topmost priority of his administration.

“Our roads infrastructure is the topmost priority of this administration: drainage clearing, palliative and construction of our roads will begin very soon. In order to improve the standard of our transportation system and security on our roads even at night, our administration will be installing solar-powered street lights on Oba Molaja Road before the end of this year.

“The council’s legislature has approved the establishment of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Public Works to give urgent and immediate attention to our road damages to avoid deplorable situation on our roads. The legislature equally approved the compulsory branding and profiling of every bike rider working in the LCDA; to ensure safety and security of our roads and people,” he added to the gathering comprising prominent politicians across Ikorodu Division.

He further noted that the Council is committed to standard healthcare delivery in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA which is why efforts are in top gear to rehabilitate and renovate both Offin and Elepe health centres. While also hinting that the abandoned Federal General hospital project within the Council is getting a push by Hon Babajimi Benson for completion.
