As part of efforts to reduce hunger, the iCare Foundation, established by Babajimi Benson, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos State, partnered with the Noella Foundation to conduct a food support program at the Ikorodu Musical Village.
In an interview with Deen Sanwo-Ola, Coordinator of the iCare Foundation, he highlighted the foundation’s commitment to serving the people of Ikorodu: “We are always creating new partnerships with organizations that prioritize the welfare of Ikorodu residents. The Noella Foundation has a commendable track record nationwide, and we wanted to extend their impact to the people of Ikorodu. We have previously collaborated with the Lagos State government during the End SARS protests, leveraging our Food Bank, known as Apo Anu, to distribute food to the people of Ikorodu. Our monthly food program consistently supports 500 needy individuals in Ikorodu, and our partners appreciate the efficiency and reliability of our operations.”
Yetunde Taiwo, a beneficiary of the program, expressed her relief and gratitude: “I’m not going to go hungry; it’s been a while since I’ve eaten yam. Today, I will have yam thanks to everyone who facilitated this.”
Another beneficiary also shared their appreciation: “I am truly grateful to the foundations. This support could sustain my family for a month.”
The collaborative effort between the iCare Foundation and Noella Foundation underscores their dedication to alleviating food insecurity and supporting the welfare of the community in Ikorodu.
