It was the usual beehive of activities as the Lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Benson yesterday gave out food items to the less privileged in his Ikorodu division.
JB as he is fondly called alongside his amiable wife admonished the the beneficiaries for their support and prayers for him stating that his aim is to ensure that hunger is reduced to the barest minimum in Ikorodu.

Jimi Benson’s iCare Foodbank scheme which is the only existing Food bank in Nigeria saw the beneficiaries cart home different food items parked in the now famous ‘Mercy Bags’ also known as the ‘Apo Aanu’.


The March edition of the ‘Apo Anu’ distribution had in attendance top Ikorodu politicians including the member representing Ikorodu Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Nurudeen Solaja as well as a 2015 aspirant for the Ikorodu Reps seat, Prince Lanre Sanusi popularly known as PLS.

Also present were the chairmen of Igbogbo Bayeku and Imota LCDAs, Comrade Sesan Daini and Prince Wasiu Agoro respectively. The event also had some Vice Chairmen in attendance including Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo of Ijede LCDA and her counterpart from Ikorodu North, Ameen Apanishile.

According to iCare Foundation headed by Mayor Deen Sanwoola, the distribution came earlier in the month this time to enable beneficiaries prepare for a hunger free Easter celebration.
This month’s distribution which had beneficiaries nominated online on the organization’s website focused on vulnerable individuals especially the elderly, widowed, single parents and the physically challenged.
