Christmas came early for some residents of Ikorodu federal constituency as Rep. Babajimi Adekoge Benson, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the green chamber, doled out food items to over 1,000 households through his iCARE Foodbank programme, on Saturday.
The December 2020 edition was held at his constituency office in Igbogbo, where beneficiaries were presented with these consumables.
The iCARE Foodbank is an initiative of Rep. Babajimi Benson’s iCare Foundation that distributes, on monthly basis, food and grocery products to individuals and vulnerable families within Ikorodu Division. These items are packaged in a bag called ‘APO AANU’.
According to Benson, he is committed to improving the standard of living of his constituents during the festive season.
He said, “This gesture will go a long way in improving on the standard of living of the people of my constituency. I want them to celebrate Christmas and New Year with smiles on their faces and with joy.”
The federal lawmaker also reiterated his resolve to deliver quality representation at the National Assembly in the interest of the development of his consitituents.
To Mayor Muyideen Sanwoola, the Director General of the iCARE Foundation, the iCARE Foodbank was “in line with Hon Babajimi Benson’s aggressive campaign against hunger among his constituents, especially as Christian faithfuls mark this year’s yuletide.”
Joining Rep. Babajimi Benson at the event geared towards ending hunger was the Founder and CEO of Food Clique, who spoke on the exemptional initiative to end hunger amongst constituents in Ikorodu and the world at large.
