iCare Foodbank: Jimi Benson Begins Year 2021 ‘Apo Anu’ Distribution To Constituents

The iCare Foundation Foodbank, an initiative of Hon Babajimi Adegoke Benson, member Federal House of Representatives, representing Ikorodu Constituency, has begun the monthly distribution of food sacks to constituents for the new year 2021.

The event was held, on Saturday, at his constituency office along Ebute-Igbogbo road, which is the main distribution centre, where beneficiaries were presented with food items.

This is in fulfilment of the lawmaker’s core mandate of ensuring the vulnerable in his constituency do not go to bed hungry.

The iCARE Foodbank is a nonprofit charitable organization that buys food and grocery products and redistributes the items in a bag called ‘APO AANU or ‘MERCY BAG’ to individuals and vulnerable families.

The Foodbank has been operating in the last 5 years, distributing food to not less than 500 families every month.

Noticeably at the event, social distancing was observed as well as the compulsory use of masks in compliance with COVID-19 protocols.

The distribution of the food items was witnessed by LGA Chairmen of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Executive Chairmen of the five Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the Division: Ikorodu North, Ikorodu West, Ijede, Imota and Igbogbo Bayeku; members of the iCARE Foundation, party stalwarts, among others.
