Ibori Makes PDP National Planning Committee

Former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori was on Friday listed as a member of the National Convention Planning Committee for the People’s Democratic Party’s special convention that was held today.

Ibori who just got back from British prison where he served a 4-year jail term was listed as the 41st member of the Main organising Committee for the Convention slated to hold in November.

The special convention held today was organised to extend the tenure of Senator Makarfi’s Caretaker Committee till when the party will conduct the elective convention later this year.

The special convention also dissolved the leadership of some States, as crisis has continued to bedevil them after the Supreme Court judgement that resolved the crisis at the national level.

The States affected includes; Adamawa, Borno, Kebbi, Ogun, Lagos, Kwara and Osun.

BlackBox NIgeria gathered that Ibori since he returned from London is yet to be seen at any political meeting as he was even absent at the inaugural meeting of the Committee on Wednesday.

Ibori’s absence at the special convention today was however predicted by his former media aide, Mr Tony Eluemunor who disclosed to the press that his former boss was nominated on the list as a former Governor of the party and since he still belongs there.

He stated that there was nothing unusual with his name being included in the list and he was not sure if he was going to be there as he has also missed out on the last National Executive Council meeting which he was also invited.
