In response to allegations of financial mismanagement that have left Babatunde Olushola Benson Housing Estate (BOBHE, Ibeshe, Ikorodu in darkness over a N74 million debt to Ikeja Electric Distribution Company, IKEDC, the Estate’s former Chairman, Rasheed Akindiya, has reached out to BlackBox Nigeria, presenting a comprehensive 1,004-page bank statement to dispute claims of embezzlement.

The financial records, shared exclusively with our correspondent, detail multiple payments made to Ikeja Electric. However, despite the extensive documentation, the Chairman was unable to satisfactorily explain how the estate’s debt escalated to such a significant amount, raising further questions about financial transparency and accountability.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Ministry of Housing has scheduled a meeting with residents for 2 pm today at Community Hall 2, where the Permanent Secretary is expected to address the power crisis and other pressing concerns.

Residents, already agitated by the prolonged blackout and lack of clear communication, are anticipating concrete answers regarding the estate’s finances and the way forward.
