Hon. Babajimi Benson, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, struck an emotional chord during the commissioning of the Eruwen Road in Ikorodu North LCDA.
Addressing the gathering, Benson emphasized his commitment to improving the lives of his constituents, stating, “I like to see you all happy. I like seeing smiles on your faces, and I promise to continue working tirelessly to actualize your requests.”
The newly commissioned road connects seven communities and 19 CDAs, offering residents a smoother and safer route to nearby areas such as Igbogbo/Bayeku. Once impassable, the road now stands as a symbol of progress and determination, much to the joy of the Eruwen community.
Community members expressed their deep appreciation for Benson’s work. Otunba Olaniyi Banjoko, a prominent resident, noted, “You are a true product of Ikorodu, and we respect your efforts. This road has changed our lives, but we hope you’ll also consider our requests for a junior high school and the reconstruction of Radio-Chelsea Road.”
Students from Oshosholu Primary School joined in the celebrations, with the Head Girl saying, “On behalf of our school, we thank you for everything you’ve done. May God continue to bless and strengthen you.”
Benson reassured the community that the Eruwen Road is just one of many projects aimed at transforming Ikorodu. “We have 22 projects that we’ve yet to commission. From bridges to new roads, we’re working to ensure that every part of Ikorodu feels the impact of development,” he stated.
He also emphasized the importance of unity and collective progress, promising to work closely with the governor to meet the community’s needs. “I live a life of contentment, but what truly fulfills me is seeing your dreams become reality. Together, we can achieve even more,” Benson added.
Adeniran Ogunbanwo, the Second Vice Chairman of Lagos State’s CDC, highlighted Eruwen’s unwavering support for Benson, noting the area’s high voter turnout in previous elections. “Eruwen stands with you, Hon. Jimi Benson, and we will continue to support your vision for Ikorodu,” he said.
With two years left in his current term, Benson assured the crowd of his dedication to completing all ongoing projects. “You gave me the mandate to serve, and I promise to finish strong. I will not stop until I see even more smiles on your faces,” he concluded.
