By “I Have No New Houses, New Accounts Nor Shares” Buhari As He Declares Assets Again
President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday disclosed that his assets have not really changed from what he declared in 2015 when he was sworn into office.
President Buhari made this known as he submitted his assets declaration forms to the Code of Conduct Bureau ahead of his inauguration for 2nd term.
Also speaking on the asset declaration, Laolu Akande, the Senior Special Adviser to Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, added that there were no significant changes in the forms from what his principal declared in 2015.
He tweeted, “Just like the President, VP Osinbajo has since submitted his assets declaration forms ahead of tomorrow’s swearing-in ceremony. When reviewed, there were no significant changes from what was declared 4 years ago. Nigeria is blessed by a President & VP who take integrity seriously.”
According to reports gathered, the winners of the 2019 General elections are expected to declare their assets with the Code of Conduct Bureau as enshrined in the Constitution before assuming office.
