Nigerian rapper and singer, Olamide Adedeji, known as Olamide, has unveiled the driving force behind the establishment of his record label.
The YBNL boss expressed that he founded the record label as a means to utilize his surplus wealth, which had become substantial, to support the careers of young artists.
During an interview with Apple Music’s Ebro Darden, Olamide explained, “I found myself accumulating wealth to a point where it became overwhelming.
“I thought, ‘Hey, I can’t just let all this money sit around. Why not invest in new talents and contribute to the community?'”
Olamide’s YBNL Nation currently serves as the creative home to two exceptionally promising afrobeats artists in Nigeria’s new generation: Fireboy DML and Asake.
The record label formerly included signees such as Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Young Jonn, and Pheelz.
