Afrobeats Singer, Omah Lay has publicly declared that despite his own first‑ever Grammy Awards nomination, his hope is that fellow artist Davido will take home the prize.
According to his Instagram statement, the song “With You,” a collaborative track between Davido and Omah Lay nominated in the Best African Music Performance category, is “exciting,” but he emphasised that awards themselves do not matter to him.
“Yeah, but I really want it for OBO! He is the realest friend I’ve had in a while, he stood by me during my hardest times,” he wrote.
Davido, despite multiple past nominations, has yet to win a Grammy.
The 2026 ceremony is scheduled for February 1 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
