The family of a Law student of Nigerian origin, Damilola Olakanmi has been thrown into mourning following her unfortunate death due to consumption of cannabis sweets.
Report has it that the 23-year-old bought the ‘gummies’ via a messaging app and they were delivered to her home.
According to Mirror UK, Olakanmi, who lives in Ilford, east London, United Kingdom with her mother consumed the ‘sweets’ with her friend, 21, and both immediately fell ill after each eating one of the ‘sweets’. However, while her unnamed friend survived, she died.
Meanwhile, the metropolitan police have already arrested a 37-year-old suspect, Leon Brown, over the alleged crime.
Brown is charged with possession with intent to supply Class B synthetic cannabinoid. He is also charged with being concerned in the supply of a synthetic cannabinoid, as well as possession with intent to supply a psychoactive substance.
