In furtherance of his development efforts in Ikorodu Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, Member of the Federal House of Representatives, and HRM Oba David Olukayode Raji, the Eweye of Isiu, jointly commissioned a newly constructed 2-kilometer road connecting four streets in Isiu. The event took place on Saturday, December 14, 2024, during the 39th grand finale of the Isiu Eweye Day celebration.
Although Hon. Babajimi Benson could not attend in person, he was ably represented by Mr. Deen Sanwoola, who highlighted the representative’s commitment to infrastructure development in Ikorodu. In his remarks, Mr. Sanwoola expressed gratitude to HRM Oba David Olukayode Raji, HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, and other traditional rulers in attendance for their support.
“We thank God that, for the first time, we have someone who is actively opening up Ikorodu. All the roads we have been constructing are focused on linking the division and enhancing connectivity, so Ikorodu can thrive and prosper,” said Sanwoola.
The newly completed road project, strategically designed to connect four streets in Isiu, is part of Hon. Benson’s broader effort to improve infrastructure and ease transportation within the Ikorodu Division.
The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Bldr. Adeola Adebisi Banjo, commended Hon. Benson for his unwavering commitment to the development of the Ikorodu Division. Banjo described the lawmaker as a visionary leader whose infrastructure projects are opening up economic opportunities in the region.
In attendance at the ceremony was Toyin Gafaar (Bolowotan), former Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, who joined other dignitaries in applauding the effort.
HRM Oba David Olukayode Raji, the Eweye of Isiu, expressed his profound appreciation to Hon. Benson for his dedication to the welfare of the constituency. In his remarks, the traditional ruler prayed for Hon. Benson’s continued success and greater achievements.
The commissioning was a highlight of the Isiu Eweye Day celebration, symbolizing the partnership between community leaders and elected officials in driving meaningful development for the people of Ikorodu.
