Celebrity chef and restaurateur Hilda Baci has added two more Guinness World Records to her name, officially becoming a three-time record holder following a landmark jollof rice cook in September 2025.
Baci disclosed the achievement in a post shared on Instagram, revealing that her latest feat broke two separate Guinness World Records: the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice and the largest serving of rice ever prepared. The recognition brings her total Guinness World Records titles to three.
The massive jollof rice cook produced an estimated 8,780 kilograms of food enough to feed more than 16,600 people and was verified by Guinness World Records on September 15, 2025.
This new milestone builds on Baci’s earlier global recognition in 2023, when she set the record for the longest cooking marathon, spending 93 hours and 11 minutes cooking continuously.
Reacting to the confirmation, Baci described the moment as both shocking and emotional, noting that she initially believed the September cook had earned her just one record. She said she only recently discovered that the same event had also set a global record beyond Nigerian-style rice.
“What I thought was one record turned out to be two,” she wrote, adding that the news came months after the original announcement.
“And now, officially, that makes three Guinness World Records in total.”
Baci also paid tribute to her collaborator, Oreoluwa Atinmo, whom she described as central to the vision and execution of the project, as well as her wider team for their dedication throughout the process.
She expressed gratitude to Guinness World Records for the recognition and to supporters who followed and celebrated the journey, describing the achievement as a powerful way to step into 2026.
Hilda Baci rose to international prominence in 2023 after her record-breaking cooking marathon captured global attention, positioning her as one of Africa’s most celebrated culinary figures. With this latest accomplishment, she further cements her place in Guinness World Records history and Nigeria’s cultural spotlight.
