Herdsmen Killings: Plateau Governor Declares Curfew In 3 LGAs

 

Fresh reports reaching BlackBox Nigeria at the moment confirms renewal attacks by suspected herdsmen in several communities in Plateau State, North Central Area of Nigeria, a carnage that has forced the State Governor to declare curfew in the affected areas.

According to reports in the media, communities in violent prone areas such as Barkin Ladi, Jos South and Riyom Local Government Areas, have been ravaged by herdsmen who have killed several defenceless residents. It was gathered that residents that survived the attacks have since deserted their homes.

Reacting to this development, Governor of the State, Mr Simon Bako Lalong declared a 6am-6pm curfew in all affected areas as he stated that the State Government was working with security apparatus in the State to fish out the perpetrators of the gruesome act.

BBN gathered that villages such as Gana-Ropp, Nghar, Tanabu, Tisan, Karuku, Kurra, Ruku, Razat, Gindin Akwati among others has been under attack since late Friday, June 22nd, 2018 as the attackers allegedly stormed the villages with sporadic gunshots. It was reported that the sounds of automatic weapons were heard from distance, according to eyewitnesses.

Death toll has since been confirmed to be on the increase, but BBN can’t confirm real figures as at the time of filing this report. More updates shortly…
