Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO) is set to take the spotlight as the main sponsor of the 120th edition of the NPA Lagos International Polo Tournament. The extended four-week polo extravaganza is scheduled to unfold at the prestigious Lagos Polo Club, Ikoyi, from January 23rd to February 18th, 2024.
With an illustrious history of hosting some of the world’s finest polo players and their majestic equine partners, the Lagos Polo Club continues its tradition. Last year witnessed the revival of one of the oldest rivalries in the tournament’s history, as Leighton Kings showcased a top-class performance to reclaim the coveted Majekodunmi Cup from Lintex Intercontra in a closely contested match. This year, the Tournament will witness the participation of 39 teams vying for victory across 4 major league cups, including the Silver Cup, Low Cup, Open Cup, and Majekodunmi Cup, among other coveted categories. The 2024 Lagos International Polo Tournament promises polo enthusiasts an elevated sporting spectacle featuring music performances by major Nigerian artists, all streamed live for a global online audience.
Mr. Segun Agbaje, Group Chief Executive Officer, reflected on GTCO Plc’s consistent sponsorship of the Lagos International Polo Tournament, stating: “Our continued support of the NPA Lagos International Polo Tournament underscores our steadfast commitment to delivering exceptional experiences, especially in celebrating the heritage and tradition of the ‘Sport of Kings’.
