GTB Masters Cup 2018: Ishola Basit Bags Brace As Ruthless Ekorians Fire Seven Past Western College

Eko Boys’ Senior High School of Mushin thrashed Western College of Yaba 7 – 0 to kick off their 2018 GTB Masters Cup campaign at Saint Finbaars’ College, Akoka On Tuesday.

The giants of Mushin were ruthtless and rampant as they dominated proceedings right from the kick off and after mounting severe pressure on the Westerners, it finally paid off in the 10th minutes when striker Aliu Faruk tapped home a nicely worked team effort from the 16 yard Box.

In the space of 20 minutes of the opening half, the Ekorians were already three Goals to be good With lanky Midfield genius, Qazeem Taofeek and Enthusiastic winger, Ishola Basit both hitting the back of the net as the wine and whites went into the break 3 – 0.

The Westerners resumed the second half hoping to tap inspiration from the spirit of Istanbul and finally got their first shot of the game. This didn’t go on for long as Striker Aliu Faruq grabbed his second of the game and Eko Boys’ fourth to take the game beyond the reach of the Boys from Yaba.

The scoreline became more embarrassing when enthusiastic winger, Ishola Basit lashed home a rebound from Fayemi John’s low shot to register his brace of the game and Eko Boys’ fifth.

With less than 15 minutes left to play, centre back Bankole Azeez and Super sub, Kareem Suliamon added their names to the score sheet with Eko Boys’ sixth and seventh of the game to complete the demolition.

Lanky Midfield genius, Qazeem Taofeek was voted as the man of the match.
