As part of its culture of service to humanity, Laulat Global Foundation, a charitable organisation in Ikorodu area of Lagos State has welcomed the first baby of the year Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA with prayer, gifts of baby items and cash.

A nonprofit organisation last week also presented the first baby to be born on Christmas Day in Igbogbo Primary Health centre with gifts.

The first baby, baby Abiodun, male, was delivered in the early hours of Saturday at the Igbogbo health centre by Mrs Garuba Rukayat.

The pleasantly surprised mother thanked Laulat Global Foundation for the gift which she was not expecting.

“I am very happy for the gift and cash, I was not even expecting anything from anybody, it is nice I am a beneficiary and I thank Laulat foundation for this gesture,” she said.

Speaking with BlackBox Nigeria correspondent, the Secretary of the Foundation, Adeyemi Benson, said the Foundation which is the brainchild of Prince Olaola Shotomiwa was established to cater for the elderly, widows and indigent residents of Igbogbo and Lagos State as a whole.

“We brought this token to support the new baby and mother and to thank God for the safe delivery. We would like to appreciate the Nurses and staff of Igbogbo Primary Health Centre for their dedication and resilience in the job. They are serving humanity which is the thrust of our foundation,” Adeyemi said after the presentation of gifts to the newborn.
